Commercial vs. domestic electricians: what's the difference?
The skills, standards and paperwork differ more than you'd think.
Domestic electricians work primarily in homes and are governed by BS 7671 and Part P. Commercial electricians work in offices, retail, warehouses and industrial sites — often with three-phase power, more complex distribution, and additional standards like BS 5266 (emergency lighting) and BS 5839 (fire alarms).
